  • Moleskine Cahier Journals, dotted

    • Portable as heck, and the dot grid is terrific for both writing and mapping

  • Prima Materia by Dice Nest for Man Alone

    • Neat gemstone dice are neat, but it’s the fresh take on how to approach a solo roleplaying oracle that has me using this system almost every session

  • Staedtler Pigment Liners (0.1mm and 0.3mm are my favs)

  • Viking/Roman style 5d4 by Creative Anachronism on Etsy

    • Without a doubt, my favorite d4 set. Rolls great, can’t double as a weapon when dropped on the floor

  • Amazing Tales by Martin Lloyd

    • A fun and approachable entry point into the TTRPG hobby for super young kiddos. Our family plays together regularly and it’s a blast!

  • Ironsworn: Starforged

    • The first TTRPG book I ever read. Its well-developed solo/GM-less co-op rules system makes this a tremendous solo game

  • Mythic Game Master Emulator 2E by Tana Pigeon

    • One of the more popular systems for adapting any TTRPG for solo or GM-less play

  • Prismatic Wisdom by W. F. Smith

    • An enlightening collection of essays from the Prismatic Wasteland blog, covering philosophies and experimental procedures for TTRPGs

  • Shadowdark RPG by Kelsey Dionne

    • The first TTRPG I ever played. A system deep enough to inspire but light enough to step out of the way once the juices start flowing

  • The Dread Thingonomicon by Raging Swan Press

    • A truly thicc tome of dressing and inspiration for a wide range of fantasy settings

  • The Monster Overhaul by Skerples

    • More than just a bestiary, The Monster Overhaul adds incredible depth and complexity to dozens of RPG monsters. I consult this book before every potential combat to add context to the encounter, and inspire possible non-combat resolutions

    • My joy. The 2022 Etherwave is a concert-quality fully-analog instrument with all the bells and whistles

  • Moog Theremini

    • My first theremin. The Theremini comes at a low price point and has some fun features such as multiple voices and automatic pitch correction. It’s also (sadly) one of the only mass-market theremins still available as of this writing

  • Boss RC-5 Loop Station

    • Personally I have yet to develop the coordination necessary to play and manipulate this loop pedal at the same time, but it makes a perfect platform for storing and playing backing tracks

  • Empress Effects ParaEQ

    • Out of the box, I find the theremin’s tone a little buzzy; the ParaEQ gives me everything I need to tame my sound and warm it up

  • UA Golden Reverberator

    • Hands-down the best reverb I’ve tried. Not for nothing, it’s got enough headroom to accept a line-level input, so no matter how loud your theremin gets, this guy can make it echo

  • Walrus Audio Canvas Tuner

    • Intended for tuning your guitar, I use the Canvas Tuner to inform my ear training and make sure I’m in key
